I don't agree that these deals (Myler and Holroyd) are too long.
In the current climate, players need security - particularly in a sport that's on the edge.
We can't just treat them like pieces of meat and offer a short term deal because it suits the club.
The risk is that they will go elsewhere - and I wouldn't blame them.
Myler could probably get a 3 year deal at Wakey or HKR and if we only offer him 2, why wouldnt he go.
He's a very handy utility back. Good at FB and decent cover in the halves.
No problem with this for me - well deserved.
Thompson is slightly different.
We were desperate at the time and he served a purpose.
He may be blocking us getting an NRL prop, but tbh he's probably not taking up much cap space.
