England 69-3 Tonga rugby LIVE RESULT: Marcus Smith comes off bench to score as Red Rose run in eleven tries

ENGLAND ran in eleven tries to crush Tonga despite the absence of captain Owen Farrell.

The Red Rose captain had a positive PCR test on Thursday, with the result repeated in the second round of testing.

He was replaced by Northampton’s George Furbank, while Courtney Lawes has taken over as captain.

But that did not stop England bagging plenty of tries against the Pacific Islanders.

Adam Radwan, Jamie George (2), Jonny May (2), Maro Itoje, Ben Youngs (2) and Jamie Blamire and Alex Mitchell crossed the line for Eddie Jones’ men.

Marcus Smyth also popped up with a try off the bench to delight Harlequins fans, with many feeling he should have started.
