Wakefield Trinity • New Stadium Updates

Another new document added today to the plot 8 Application.

TRANS PENNINE TRAIL

This one’s only 3 pages long, but what a load of waffle. TPT (trans pennine trail) have concerns regarding number of cycle parking spaces, not enough being provided.
Inclusion of cycle parking is noted but the provision has been reduced. See 2.5 below. Cycle parking should also be secure
Unit 1 - Cycle parking provision reduced from 73 to 43.
Unit 2 – Cycle parking provision raised from 29 to 41. This shows an overall reduction in cycle parking of 18 spaces across Unit 1 & 2. The developers are asked to retain the original level of cycle parking and ensure cycle parking is safe.

Also concerns about a new footbridge, being accessible to all, I think they may have a point on this.

Is the footbridge accessible or stepped access only? Stepped only provision would not be compliant under the Equalities Act.

Footpaths, another concern.

Notes footway on northern section of Newmarket Lane carriageway – this is used by walkers, cyclists and horse riders – not just walkers
Notes a 3m footway / cycleway along the new Industrial Estate Access Road -
This new route should be signed to / from the Trans Pennine Trail / NCN?
Please note Route 67 is also part of the Trans Pennine Trail network and should be represented as such throughout the application documentation
States 2m footways on the Industrial Estate Access Road. This contravenes the stated 3m footway / cycleway in item 2.4. Or is this footway separate to the 3m noted n 2.4
As above. The footway / cycleway should be 3m not 2m. Government guidance LTN1/20 provides details.
The connection route from the TPT to the Industrial Estate Access Road should be a minimum of 3m (this is not stated) and cater for walkers and cyclists and designed to LTN1/2- standards. Equestrian access has been refused by the developer (email 23/03/2021).

The above is just an example of this document, given me an headache just reading 3 pages. Lets hope the council planning committee see some sense and pass both the stadium and Plot 8 together.
