An "it's only sport" mentality is likely to be offensive to anyone who has sacrificed certain aspects of their life/family time in order to reach the top of their game.
Don't confuse passion with anger
Trying your best, and not wanting to lose and being disappointed/upset when you do is what I expect. Winning at all costs is something very different, look at pro cycling.
