The Chairman’s October 2020 Update

0 6

Dear All,

As we enter October, I look back on September and the previous 7 months and wonder how we have managed!!

However, being positive the men and women are training regularly, numbers are up and quality for the season is looking impressive. Despite recent news that we will not have any competitive rugby until 2021, which is frustrating, we need to maintain momentum, remain focused and be ready when we do get an actual start date

The mini and youth have all started back officially in September and although training has been adapted to meet guidelines the enthusiasm and smiling faces every Sunday is truly something to behold and long may it continue. Intra and Inter-club games are now allowed in accordance with stage D and ready4rugby guideline’s (the under 18’s have a fixture on the 16th and the Under 16’s on the 30th of October, these are on the AGP and under lights- with post-match meals) other slots are available, please liaise with your managers and the clubhouse to find a suitable time.

We need to be mindful of the COVID -19 regulations and current guidelines (which seem to change daily and have a different interpretation, depending on who you speak to or which establishment you visit!)

So when at the club, please remember, changing facilities remain closed, the clubhouse now has the NHS COVID Track and Trace set up so you will need the App, you can log in as you enter the club, with your mask on! It is not easy or straight forward, but be patient and you will get served, please abide by the rules and staff guidance. We can then remain open for all our members and families as we cope with the restrictions. Your ongoing support and understanding are very much appreciated.

Over the coming weeks, we will be asking our members for thoughts on how the club is run and what you like, what we can do better and also most importantly what you can do to help. We are also launching our new Sponsorship pack, with some great opportunities to support our community engagement and club, which will help improve what we do.

So although there are no rugby matches as we are used too, there is plenty going on that needs support as we aim to be in the best possible position when competitive games do return.

The Huddle

On the 1st October, we celebrated the First-Year anniversary of having the Huddle on board as one of our partners. It has been a challenging first year for them, but how exciting is the service they offer. A very positive team of specialists assembled by James and Andrew with an extremely proactive and positive view on life and hard work. My view is to set your goals, speak to them, get a “lifestyle” plan and get to work, it will save you money and add years to your life.

If you are able to help in any way, please email clubhouse@cheltenhamtigers.com for further information.

Best Regards,

Steve Ratcliffe, Club Chairman
