It hasn't made much difference to the English games - either improving international performances, or sell-out attendances.
Having just watched Back Chat where Lee Briers wants an end to Scholarships - and an improvement to the youth game - and coaching,I am in full agreement.
Looking at academies in soccer - they don't,and haven't worked.
Donnyman would be happy with a 12 clubs Super League of M62 sides - with a reserve league of 12 M62 clubs - and an academy of 12 Super League clubs.
Is that the way ahead? Learning nothing from history? Improving? 125 years and counting....for not very many more years.
Sorry but your 1st and 4th lines do not make any sense to me ?
