Lucs Pitches to Safely Re-open

0 34

RESTRICTIONS RELAXED
THE CLUB PITCHES ARE NOW OPEN FOR YOU

but with strict safety conditions, so PLEASE read all below

We have all received the welcome news from the Government of the move to start allowing more people to meet up in outdoor venues as of Monday 1st June. In terms of how this affects us as a club and our strategy for reopening, we will review and communicate out in the coming days/weeks, but for now club activity will be kept to the following;

As of Monday 1st June, if any club members* wish to use the outdoor pitch space at Mortimer Park, to exercise, practise their sport (kicking at posts for example), play games as a family, picnic, sunbathe or meet up with one person from another household, they may do so, but must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • You must be a member of the club or have a junior member at the club to be eligible to use it during this time.
  • You need to pre-book an available time slot, by visiting our club membership and booking system. [See below for how to do this] These bookings need to be done by 8pm the night before you intend to use the fields so we can ensure our volunteers know whether they are required or not.
  • For now these slots are only open when there are volunteers available to man these specific times, as we must ensure the club is doing all we can to safeguard against any potential mass gatherings.
  • The incoming National guidance about meeting with 5 people, does not apply to our approach as a club currently, as we must cautiously re-open at a pace that fits our resources. If you wish to book one of these times it must be either with other members of your household, or one person may book to come down with one other person from another household (both must be members).
  • No indoor space, including toilets will be available, no first aid provision will be available and no communal equipment [Including the clubhouse patio and playground] will be available during this initial introductory phase to activity.
  • Each booking will be allocated half a rugby pitch, so two people from differing households may use this area, or a whole family may, as requested.
  • Each booking will be for a maximum of 2 hours and there are a limited number of bookings available during each time slot.

We appreciate that the above may come across as quite authoritarian but it is the point at which we must start, if we are to ensure any members or volunteers attending the facility are protected, as well as the club itself. Please ensure if you plan to come down at any point in the coming weeks that you follow the guidelines and book a time-slot for yourself or your family. Do not just turn up as you will be turned away.

We will continue to review what we can provide to all our members and sections and, as we are able, will re-introduce sport as when and where we can.

In accordance with Government guidelines, the clubhouse will remain closed and off limits until at least the 4th July.

In accordance with the above, pitch space at Mortimer Park , for w/c 1st June, will be available during the following times:
