I'm sure there are idiots in other sports who'd cut off their own nose just so they could keep faith with the lads on the housing estate where they grew up, but it doesn't surprise me that it seems to happen more in league as it seems to come from the top down.
100% and is why we have players booed when playing for their country.
In football you have fans of some clubs who don't support the national team because their players are subsequently booed by other fans and slated by the media.
