Hull FC - blackandwhites.co.uk • The best team from the 70s/80s sides that didn't rep

We had a lot of talent brought/bought into the team in the late 70s and early 80s that changed the face of the club, even if the face of the Boulevard was at best a bit 'enigmatic', but there was a lot of home grown talent, talent from outside the city that never got the recognition at International level.
So after a bit of researching through various books to make sure no rep honours, this is my team.

1. George Robinson -Fearless fullback who left everything on the field
2. Kevin James - An absolute flyer, could have been massive.
3. Graham Bray I know Bray was a winger but couldn't leave him out, he was quality
4. Terry Day -played in the old style Championship winning Dewsbury team and won the Ch. again in '83, won every domestic honour available to him (so no Lancy cup)
5. Super Alf - nothing more can be said about Alf Macklin except Hull legend
6. Brian Hancock, talented footballer, gave everything to the club and could well have got more recognition at a bigger/ club.
7. Kevin harkin -toss up between him Phil Windley and Tony Dean, I loved the fact Dean was a crafty so and so and dg specialist but Harkin just nudges it.
8. Phil Edmonds, former KR player, I always like the cut of his jib, not 100% sure he didn't gain honours so may have to swap him out
9. Alan McGlone some may argue for Tony Duke but McGlone was a better all round player IMO
10. Neil Puckering under-estimated forward who broke into the team just before that small affair at Wembley in '85 and wasn't overawed or outclassed
11. Russ Walker Another grafter, could play prop or 2nd row
12. Keith Boxhall to not get capped was a massive injustice to Rhino!
13. Tracey Lazenby not at the club for long but was a very creative and excellent ball handler and kicker.

Who might you have?
