.......and that support became massive during the early years of Superleague when they started to win things. It can again go a long way to making Bradford massive again as can Sawyers investment (Dewsbury fans think he may leave for the Bulls) and the backing of two big name administrators in Wood and Perez, and the full support of Ian Lenegan. On field success brings increased crowds for ANY club, especially if that success is over anything like a sustained period of time, with the opposite being the case when success isn't there and I'll use Bradford as the reference point for both of these.
Like most other things in our sport, Bradford, along with EVERY other club are not the magic bullet for the future prosperity of the sport and to believe that they are is Capdouzeesque.
Yes, a successful Bulls side with 15,000 fans turning up regularly could be good for the sport but, the game should concentrate on getting the "product" right and try and ensure that whoever secures the rights to broadcast the sport, can help to elevate our image to the wider world.
Some quality commentators and pundits who speak well would be a good starting point.
With decent promotion of the sport, it could certainly reach new audiences and this is way more important than any of the current SL clubs (or Bradford).
They say that Eddie Waring, despite his knowledge and passion for the sport, held RL back and if we want to attract new people into the sport, we should spend a bit more time working on the games image, rather than worrying about which clubs are involved.
Usually, the only time RL makes national headlines is when something "bad" goes on and certain players have misbehaved.
