In related news. If you go around conquering close to 2/3rds of the worlds surface, don't be stunned when those chickens come home to roost. A great example will be the cost of a FTA with China. As a result of our FTA agreement here in NZ with China, Auckland is now awash with some wealthy chinese but a bucket load of middle class chinese and their extended families. This has driven house prices up to unacceptable levels and Kiwi's can no longer get on the ladder. If you want to do business with these people, then your little racist heart will be all aflutter when boat loads of chinese arrive as the kicker to the deal
