Bon Voyage Joe Borrett

0 39

Sunday’s victorious Senior Colts Plate Final was a fitting send off and last game for Eccles RFC U17 Joe Borrett, who is departing the club to study at Wayne State College in Nebraska, where he has won a 4yr Rugby Scholarship, commencing in August.

The midwestern college is home to one of the largest rugby tournaments in the USA, held in spring each year where over 90 teams from 17 different states and Canada compete in a two-day event at the WSC 22-acre rugby complex.

Joe has been at Eccles Rugby Union Club from a week old and first began playing at 5yrs old in the Under 7’s Team. He’s now played through age-grade rugby all the way to U18 Senior Colts and made his senior debut in the Eccles RFC 3XV team on 9th March this year.  Through the club, Joe has achieved many goals including  his Referee level 1 qualification and county representation for Lancashire U16s. Joe’s ambition is to play Rugby at a high level and plans to study as a Nutritionist.

Joe will be missed by all his team mates, and they and his coaches and everyone at Eccles RFC, wishes him the very best of luck and Bon Voyage.

Never forget Joe, William Webb Ellis was a Salford lad too!
