The Virtual Terrace • Can professional RL sustain so many clubs?

Wakefield are a genuine enigma to me. I can certainly see why Mr Carter is revered by Trin fans (I'm lukewarm as he likes to intervene in matters Bradford but let's not get sidetracked), as the way in which he turned around the structure of the whole club is impressive.

I don't understand how running a club with the levels of income that they generate results in the relative on-field success the way it does. In terms of 'bang for your buck', Trin appear to be lightyears ahead of most other SL clubs. You look at the underspend on the cap and their wealth generally and they shouldn't be where they are in my opinion. That's a compliment by the way.
