The Virtual Terrace • No Helmets Required

It's a decent, well thought out article and whether we like it or not and even with our lack of genuine RL playing nations, all of the money in terms of sponsorship is through internationals.
The Aussies are probably happy with their lot, especially with SOO but, they certainly haven't given the rest of the sport any thought and just like SL, they are bothered about themselves and sod the rest.
While Cricket and RU have totally embraced the international game, we have just closed our eyes and hoped that something good would happen.
Would it be worth sacrificing some of the domestic season, both here and in Aus, to allow our top players to spend more of their time playing internationals or, would we be in danger of overkill in spreading our resources too thinly ?

The very minimum has to be a rolling program of international fixtures that everyone knows is going to happen and that "we" can sell the legs off and ensure that our sport looks at it's very best in front of the TV cameras.

Just getting back to the article and the BBC's desire to move the Challenge Cup.
Perhaps Sky have had some say in it not being allowed to move ? After all, they stand to lose a weekends SL fixtures in what we now know is the peak time for airing our sport.

Time for some big boys talk from our administration and the broadcasting companies
