Trying to teach my adult kids how to stay on top of their financial lives--They don,t listen --maybe worth a blog.My wife has a thing with money boxes spread around the house- every week she puts in $5 dollars into the replacement washing machine  money box. $5 a fortnight  into a water filter replacement tin, $50 a month into Christmas present and Xmas expenses tin, $150 a fortnight into Pet and medical expenses{We got out of Private Health--and are doing much better with this} Thinking of doing the same for a coffee machine and Car replacement fund. The upside to this is great--Our washing machine broke down and we had no hassle with replacement as we had more in this fund to cover the expense. This system works really well for us trying to get our kids to follow our example is difficult.See More
