Patience, Dysfunction and Evolution...please try harder

Patience, all things come to those that wait.If you think our club is dysfunctional, then we certainly have a supporter base to match!Just a reminder, 3 seasons ago the club was put under administration. State Govt directive, mainly because of criminal type activity with regard to salary cap and player management. We were fined in excess of $1m and the football club had losses that were paid for by the leagues club in excess of $10m.We also lost 12 competition points and it was a remarkable job that BA was mainly held responsible for.The financial viability of the club was never in jeopardy, something seemingly not understood by members of this site. This was perfectly explained by the administrator. He further explained that it was the management of the club that was bankrupt from ideas and integrity. One season later we get a new CEO with a charter to get the club functional again.New constitutions were raised, new board appointed and the eye was taken off football because we managed 4th and again BA was King.New management thought well football is OK, nothing to worry about there!New management were very well qualified having already led a club to a NRL premiership, former player, sports administrator in the US, and probably IMO heir apparent to Greenberg if he lasts longer than 3 years.Gurr's job will take that long to complete. His critics here have no where near the qualifications to critique him or the quality of the new board, but don't worry that won't stop the sociopaths that think they know better than the experts. It is a shame the sociopaths cannot get someone qualified to get at least an ounce of credibility in their critique.Have a look at Gurr's resume and his public presence and presentation and compare him to our previous puppet CEO's.Yes you criticise him but come forward and say who you would replace him with. Well none of the past masters can or could, quiet simply none of them showed enough initiative in their whole career's to have a review done that outlines a corporate/business and playing future for the football club. Again we needed to understand that the Chairman of the board is exactly that not the Steve Sharp type individual who acted as a CEO from the Chairman's role......Understand everyone that the Chairman is not an executive position!!This season, the season from Hell arrived and went, reality occurred and the band aids fell off. We realised that BA was not the man we thought he was (who ever is in critical situations, our wonderful sociopaths lol).Criticism was that not enough money given to football, but I think you will find that BA wanted the autonomy and not the money so much. His plan was to get through 2018 with the bandaged brigade he had put together and the refocus would be now, coinciding with what he knew would be a set of quality juniors coming through...….on top of this we had lost our best forward (predictably) in Beau Scott and our best back, history might say one of the most destructive runners the game has seen (Semi). All this adds up to the perfect storm! I do not think anyone, even the obvious critics of the roster going into this season that what happened, happened! On top of this we have one of the most destructive social media sites (this site) constantly undermining every undertaking the club has undertaken. Among the least a concerted campaign against the management over "bloody jerseys" of all things. (talk about priorities of management).OK, The shite has hit the fan and our very good management brings in the highest quality review group that money can buy. These guys (our management) seem very capable of spending a buck, if the circumstance requires or is justified. Hence my earlier comment, I don't think BA ever felt he was short of backing or money.WE now have a new plan to go forward and the dreaded 5 years gets mentioned, many of these things will not take that long, some like the centre of excellence will probably take longer. Now is not the time to rubbish the club with retribution or tell the experts what to do......now is the time to be patient. Who can honestly say they expected us to be this advanced after the sacking of the board and management less than 3 years ago. This is evolution, get used to it.Finally this blog will be lambasted by the usual suspects, just remember when they are conducting their rants, one is very proud of his writings and sees himself as a legend. You will note that everything that is talked about will refer to dopes, people who supported Steve Sharp and idiocies like privatisation. There is no future listening to these people, just the usual entertainment that some here love! The so called Unicorns which is something I am happy to be labelled with are nothing but optimists. I continue to be optimistic, those who aren't should maybe try somewhere else than our ever lovable and dysfunctional football team. I can see changes ahead!!See More
