Head of Community and Marketing, Martin McLoughlin, said: “Having looked at the scheduled fixtures and the turnaround between games with the coaching staff, and following discussions with Salford, we felt it was best to make a decision now and bring the game forward to a time that definitely suits both teams.

“With the Challenge Cup set to be played the following week, the chances are that one or both teams could be playing on Thursday or Friday that week so it makes sense to act now and ensure we avoid any potential problems.

“A number of key factors are considered when making a decision such as this and we hope by getting this information out early any disruption to fans planning to attend the game will be minimal.
