A football general manager, do we have one? If not do we need one?

Given the Eels poor start to the season, currently boasting a terrible 0-4 win/loss record many people here have been asking questions about BA and his respective staff. For the past month since the season began i haven't been here often, i've posted stuff regarding match day content and posted the odd comment here and there, but for the most part there is a lot of crazy opinions here that just aren't worth reading (looking at you, the people who post 4 word blogs and ramble on about the same stuff others have blurted out on a whim). Whilst not spending a whole lot of time here i have been reading the odd blog here and there. I have seen many here raise the question about BA and his coaching future at the Eels, i for one think BA is in no danger and his earned some credits before the club starts questioning his position. However even the most optimistic of Eels fans can't deny that BA and his players are under a lot of pressure given his/their poor start to the season. From an outsider looking in at the Eels club there seems to be a lot of egos and players with strong personalities, probably more than one man, BA himself could handle. Now i want to make it clear by no means is BA's staff not credible, i'm sure they are very professional and BA himself holds them in high regard. HOWEVER.... Having said all that, Des Hasler and Geoff Toovey are two former premiership winning coaches and they are currently without major roles or coaching roles in AT ANY NRL CLUB (Toovey being overseas), i'm sure either one of them would jump at an NRL opportunity in any way shape or form. These guys have experience and respect throughout the NRL, this experience i believe is something BA and his staff could use, whether this is as a general manager or assistant coach. Take the Warriors as an example, they recently hired Brian Smith as their general manager of football. Many people had wrote the Warriors off before this season even began, myself included. Stephen Kearney's job was under immense pressure before this season even began but for now it seems with the help of Smith the Warriors are flying high. Smith is an experienced man in terms of coaching and has helped pull many a struggling club off the ground in his time. Kearney being fairly new in coaching game (new at least compared to Smith) i could see often leaning on Smith for advice regarding many things such as recruitment/player management and attacking and defensive structures. If the Eels were to reach out to Toovey or Hasler i could see them having a similar effect here at the Eels, sure POSSIBLY there would be speculation about BA and his leadership initially but in the long run having someone like Toovey or Hasler help you week in week out couldn't hurt. Just a thought guys... I'd personally go with Des, as he seems more well rounded than Toovey both in coaching and player management/recruitment capacity.  PS: I know i'm probably gonna get a 1000 BA comments like ''he sucks'', ''he's gone'', ''hire Toov's or Des as coach fulltime''. But i see that every time i come here anyway. If we get all those comments all we will be missing are the GIF's and they're always fun and Neeeevvver everrrr boring..... See More
