It seems Centrelink is throwing the net over homosexuals claiming benefits in light of the SSM vote . We have a Australian lesbian married to an overseas carpet muncher who’s been slogged with a 7k Centrelink bill for claiming single benefits last year and also they’ve advised that any homosexual pensioners claiming single status must now get down and ensure their details are correct and they’re listed as defacto etc .   Centrelinks requirements have been that they’ve recognised SSM relationships since 2009 and your details should be reflective of that , but with fines and repayment requests now being rolled out , it seems the new laws have brought some unwanted attention on same sex couples claiming welfare .  Now couples married abroad are being recognised here , they’re sayng there maybe thousands of couples receiving the wrong payments .  Here comes a big whack of equality . See More
