A lot of critiscism and "what haves" if we had done things differently emerged in the aftermath of last night.I would like to point out some factors we should not ignore!We have a coach whose strengths outweigh his weaknesses but his weaknesses still need to be addressed.I am not sure if they don't go together notwithstanding.BA is so close to his players and demands and receives such loyalty that he is blind to his own loyalties. He is bloody stubborn!His selections throughout the year have been obstinate and ignoring the facts in front of him. I don't believe he played horses for courses and what makes me think that is someone said in a post that "we wouldn't have won anyway"......whilst talking about that, I suggest they would have.Mannah's ongoing selection as a player and captain? his HIA's are just about a lawsuit waiting to happen.Kritchard and Fritchard perserverance....young players in second grade not being blooded when opportunities presented.Auv'va being picked on the wing, where his weaknesses were always going to be exposed....not arguing he isn't a project but last nights second attempt to catch a high ball that ultimately went into King's hands 15 metres upfield was a demonstration of not having a clue!The reluctance for so long in swapping Jennings to the right side, the discipline involved of passing from dummy half....King hardly made a mistake there...Kritchard learnt nothing.We should not mention how badly Tepai Moreoa has been handled as a project from him being allowed to play with that shoulder injury that  is doomed to plague him forever. His constant HIA's comes back to poor technique protecting that shoulder. What concerns me at the end of this is.....is what did we learn.Simple things did not work this year, Moses showed up Norman as a poor man's half and maybe Normie might be better at fullback and Smith at 5/8. I understand the rhetoric of them not playing together in a preseason, the reality is that Norman is pretty much a one trick pony and contrary to his few outstanding games, is not an effective playmaker! he is a talent....at this point a mythical one as a playmaking half!This is all subjective stuff that is going to draw criticism, we have an outstanding coach and I would not swap him for anyone, but he like the players has to learn by and with this experience as well.He is a smart man, I am sure he will!He has worked harder to get where he is, now he has to work smarter!Some people will be surprised by this Unicorn writing this, but it is the Elephant in the room and needs to be said now....so we can move on.We have the starting point of Parra being the powerhouse we all expect....everyone needs to grow with this perspective....we are no longer the battlers after this season.Next season the expectations will be a huge challenge!See More
