Boxing Day Bonanza at the Avenue
A bright sunny Boxing Day witnessed the Annual get-together of two local clubs. Wharfedale played host to North Ribblesdale and what a feast of rugby it turned out to be. A bumper crowd were treated to a festival of rugby which started with Wharfedale Ladies taking on an Invitational XV drawn from teams near and far and most from teams in higher leagues. Wharfedale Ladies ran out winners by 31 points to 28.
Wharfedale Foresters then took on North Ribblesdale and although the game was closely contested the visitors ended with a convincing win. …
