Is the NRL season of 27 rounds too long?

This is a resounding YES from me. I was reading some content about the Panthers pulling out of the Club Challenge in regards to their players rep commitments. The article also mentions the NRL coming down on Ponga and should do the same for the Panthers.

But, I feel the Panthers have every right to withdraw. The players are busted. How are we supposed to have the best product when so many players are getting injured and getting serious injuries for that matter? I don't have any stats but...
