End of Year Meal & AGM
Thank you to all those attended the AGM, a lovely meal was had at The White Cross, followed by lots of decision making! Below are the items discussed and what they mean for the club:
- Exec Changes: Sadly Timo is leaving for Canada, and so Andy will be stepping into his role as Vice President/Safety Officer. With the year's competitions now over, the Competition Secretaries have also changed, with Matt and Jade taking the place of Andy and Charlie.
- Competitions: It's all systems go for NUBS and BUCS this year, and there are plans to hire a professional coach for our teams, stay tuned on that one.
- Climbing Society: As some of you may know, there is a separate climbing society, which functioned as the sporting side of LUMC, however the reasons for which was created (such as LUSU funding) have started to pass and so it was decided that it will now be reabsorbed back into LUMC proper, hopefully avoiding confusion for those joining the club.
- Gear: There has been much debate on if the club should purchase any cams, but it was decided that we will not be purchasing any soon, as we believe there are lots of other items the club could buy that would perhaps be more cost effective, or beneficial to the club.
- Deposits: A vote was held to see if the deposit was considered worth having, and if the practice should continue, to which a majority vote agreed it should. Changes could still occur to the price of the deposit, but this is something that will be discussed with the club as a whole when possible.
