Karate Kid actor Ralph Macchio speaks out on The Masked Singer Dressed Crab rumours and admits ‘I can hold a tune’
KARATE Kid actor Ralph Macchio has teased his identity as The Masked Singer’s Dressed Crab – and admitted “I can hold a tune.”
Fans of the ITV reality series are convinced a US star is behind the bright red mask, with some suggesting country singer Teddy Swims is the top name in the frame.
Yet actor Ralph, 63, didn’t fully dismiss speculation during a chat on Good Morning Britain.
During a pre-recorded segment aired on Wednesday’s episode, the Cobra Kai star candidly confessed: “I can carry a tune.”
Ralph, who is no stranger to reality TV after starring on the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, then let slip: “The Masked Singer has crossed my desk the last couple of years.
“With all that stuff – even with Dancing With The Stars – its timing.
“Never say never right?”
Previously, fans told how they couldn’t believe Ralph’s “real age” as he returned to the Karate Kid movie franchise.
They claimed he “hadn’t aged” since the 1984 classic, in which he played Daniel LaRusso.
Just last year, Ralph was awarded a star on Hollywood’s coveted Walk Of Fame.
KEY CLUES
Dressed Crab previously had the judges on their feet as he belted out the Lenny Kravitz hit song Are You Gonna Go My Way, after kicking off its stint on the show with the Bill Withers’ track Lean On Me.
At the time, dancing along, judge Mo Gilligan exclaimed: “He’s so good man!”
His co-star Davina McCall added: “Oh my God, that voice! What a singer!”
Meanwhile, the striking crustacean has offered up a series of clues about their identity.
These include an American football helmet, a non-disclosure agreement and gold coins.
An NFL mask further adds to the American vibe, while three clocks with times for London, Miami, and Tokyo also played out.
Who has left The Masked Singer 2025 so far?
Much to the delight of telly fans, The Masked Singer is back in 2025.
Twelve celebrities have been hidden behind intricate costumes, with their identities concealed.
Sadly, not all of this year’s whacky and wonderful characters can make it to the end of the show, as there can only be one winner.
Here’s who has been unmasked so far:
Bush – she didn’t fool viewers and the judges were so close, but Bush was in fact EastEnders legend Natalie Cassidy. Davina McCall came closest, guessing Morgana Robinson, who does a mean impression of the Sonia actress
Bear – another success for new judge Maya Jama as she guessed correctly that the singing Bear was none other than singer, songwriter Example – real name Elliot Gleave
Snail – this singer certainly fooled the judges as the mask was lifted to reveal Andrea Corr. Jonathan Ross admitted to being a huge fan of The Corrs
Kingfisher – everyone was convinced this was Harry Hill, but the mask was lifted to reveal artist Sir Grayson Perry, who is known for his alter-ego Claire
Teeth – this character baffled judges and viewers with their changing voice. They were finally unmasked as former Bake Off host Mel Giedroyc. None of the panel managed to guess it was her
Tattoo – despite Davina McCall saying “you sound the same” after this character was unmasked, none of the judges guessed it was 80s singer Carol Decker, whose hit China In Your Hand was a No1 hit for five weeks
Toad In The Hole – a massive diva strop saw the character storm off the stage after the judges voted them off. They later returned to be unmasked as singer Macy Gray
Pegasus – the mythical horse was revealed to be Prue Leith, with judge Jonathan Ross correctly guessing her identity
Spag Bol – this character was first to be unmasked and was none other than Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway.
Plus there was one extra unmasking this season, with Giant Joel – a caricature of host Joel Dommett – unveiled as double-double Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah.
Dressed Crab also shared the riddle: ”I don’t want to be beaten, there’s too much at stake, I’ve a taste for the high life, my rivals should quake.”
GUESSING GAME
Keeping in with the American football clue, some think that former American footballer and ex-Strictly star Jason Bell could be the hidden celebrity.
Other fans think it is American jazz singer Curtis Stigers — who is best known for the 1991 song I Wonder Why.
Others reckon that Brit Michael Kiwanuka is behind the Crab mask.
The English singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer, is currently signed to Polydor Records.
Michael is perhaps best known for his hit Cold Little Heart which is Big Little Lies’ opening theme song.
The Masked Singer continues at 7pm, ITV1/ ITVX, Saturday February 1.
