Warrant issued for arrest of Andrea Lee’s husband

Following reports of a domestic violence incident on August 5th, in which Aaron was said to have fled the scene, a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

As expected, following reports last week that Andrea Lee had been the victim of a domestic violence incident at the hands of her husband, Donald Aaron, an official warrant for his arrest has been issued. The 43-year-old head coach of Karate Mafia MMA is said, by a witness at the scene, to have attacked his wife with a lit cigarette as well as trying to choke her in the early hours of Sunday, August 5th.

“They had been arguing all week,” roommate Andy Nguyen, said in a detailed account of the event to MyMMANews. “She couldn’t train because he kept her home. He wouldn’t let her leave. I didn’t call the cops until it got physical and I couldn’t do nothing anymore.”

According to Nguyen, when the police arrived at the house, “Donny saw the cop cars coming and he ran out the house with his dad and he has been gone ever since.”

In a statement released to the public, the Shreveport Police department announced that Aaron has been charged with “one count of Domestic Abuse Battery and one count of False Imprisonment.” The statement added that he’s believed to possibly be in Georgia as he continues to evade arrest.

“We always encourage people turn themselves in if they know they are wanted in connection with a crime,” police spokesperson Angie Willhite told MMAJunkie. “I don’t know this gentleman. I don’t know his character, and I don’t know if he’s the type of person who would do that. But I think there’s certainly enough information out there that we’re looking for him.”

Just two months prior to this incident, Aaron and Lee were involved in a public scandal after photos surfaced of two Nazi tattoos on Aaron’s arms. Aaron and Lee defended his choice not to have the work removed or covered up, saying that the tattoos provided reminders of his past among other, less-sound reasoning. Aaron, a former police officer, previously spent time in prison on a negligent homicide conviction, after he shot and killed a man who had been sitting in a parked car near his driveway.

Lee, a former Invicta flyweight and LFA champion, made her UFC debut this last May, against Veronica Macedo in Santiago, Chile, winning the fight by unanimous decision. In a recent statement, Lee was unwilling to give any further details on the alleged assault, but did assure fans that ‘it’s not going to affect my UFC career.’
