Video: Sage Northcutt’s sister Colbey loses pro MMA debut by TKO
Colbey Northcutt lost her professional MMA debut in the second round.
Colbey Northcutt, the sister of popular UFC prospect Sage Northcutt, made her pro MMA debut Friday night on LFA 14.
The 24-year-old came into the contest with a strong background in Karate and 4-1 as an amateur in MMA. Her last bout was back in 2014 though, after she decided to focus on college.
With her younger sibling finding success and getting pushed by the UFC, Colbey decided to return to the sport and debut professionally. Unfortunately, her debut didn’t go her way.
After landing a few good shots early, her opponent Courtney King displayed superiority when it came to the mat. After controlled most the action from top control in the first round, she used a front head lock to get a takedown in the second round. She transitioned to a dominant position and threw strikes until the referee called the fight.
It wasn’t the most damaging of strikes, and a case can be made that it was a bit of an early stoppage, but in the end, Colbey officially lost her bout by TKO at the 3:27 mark of round 2.

Next month, Sage will try to get a win for the Northcutts as he fights a fellow traditional martial artist in John Makdessi at UFC 214.
