Great Britain Reveals Squad for 2025 Adapted Judo European Championships
We are proud to announce the squad selected to represent Great Britain at the 2025 EJU Open European Adapted Judo Championships, taking place in Conegliano, Italy, from 6–7 November.
This year’s championships represent an important milestone. Following last year’s inaugural Open European II Judo Championships, which focused on intellectual impairments at Levels 1 and 2, the 2025 edition will, for the first time, be open to athletes with all types of disabilities.
In the Level 1 categories, Great Britain will be represented by Tom Mawdsley (-66kg), Campbell Brooks (-73kg), Stanley Walker (-73kg), Joshua Hughes (-73kg), Chris Murphy (-81kg), Jaidan Rouse-Easy (-81kg), Idris Khan (-81kg), Mikey Lomas (+90kg), and Stuart Jackman (+90kg). The women’s line-up includes Rebecca Lamb (-57kg) and Saffiyah Khan (-63kg).
Competing in the Level 2 divisions, the men’s team features Ilyas Khan (-66kg), Braydon Robus (-66kg), Sean Allan (-73kg), Rowan Kinsella (-73kg), Mason Dugmore (-73kg), and George Light (+90kg). The women’s contingent includes Siobhan Lloyd (-52kg), Nikki McDermott (-57kg), and Skye Westwood (-63kg).
Rounding out the squad are three athletes competing in the Adaptive categories: Kyle Tower in the L3 Adaptive -50kg division, Hanna Bancer in the L3 +70kg competition and Georgie Grayson in the L4 Adaptive -66kg category.
It’s not just the athletes flying the flag for Great Britain in Conegliano; Paul Tansey will be refereeing at the championships. It’s fantastic to see one of our British referees heading out to support this event.
Congratulations and good luck to everyone who has been selected — you’ve got this!
A big thank you also goes to the dedicated support staff who will be travelling with the team to ensure all of our fighters have an excellent experience.
