British Judo Celebrates Biggest Female Fighters Festival
Over 100 female judoka took to the mat at the weekend for the biggest Female Fighters Festival to date!
The annual event celebrates and promotes women’s participation in judo, offering a platform for female judoka of all ages (ranging from five to sixty five) and skill levels (from white belt up to black belt) to come together, learn, and be inspired.
This year’s festival featured an impressive lineup of coaching staff who led a range of masterclasses from current and former Olympians, World, European and Commonwealth medalists sandwiched in between yoga and fitness sessions.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Georgina Bevan, Kelly Staddon, Natalie Powell, Nekoda Smythe-Davis, Jodie Caller and Emma Reid for their individual sessions. Each masterclass offered attendees different perspectives to incorporate as part of their judo.
The festival offered a variety of sessions, from technical judo drills to discussions on nutrition and the broader benefits of martial arts. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in technical drills and randori, attend workshops about nutrition, and connect with fellow judoka, fostering a sense of community and empowerment.
The Female Fighters Festival is more than just a training event; it’s a celebration of the strength, resilience, and camaraderie among women in judo. By bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds, the festival aims to inspire the next generation of female fighters and promote inclusivity within the sport.
We already can’t wait for next years Female Fighters Festival!
