Olympic athletes who posed nude for Playboy, from German Judo star to a two-time gold medal-winning ice skating legend

WITH their enviable figures, it’s no wonder these Olympic stars have posed naked for Playboy.

German ski jumper Juliane Seyfarth has caused a stir in her homeland by revealing she has stripped off the men’s lifestyle magazine.

She revealed on Instagram she hopes the photos will be ‘welcomed by everyone because they draw positive attention to our sport.’

But Seyfarth isn’t the first Olympian to get her kit off for a sizzling photo shoot.

Here’s seven more who weren’t afraid to show off their stunning, sporty physiques.

Amanda Beard

A former world record holder in the 200m breast stroke, Team USA legend Beard appeared across four Olympics from 1996 to 2012.

Incredibly, she has seven medals to her name, including four gold medals.

However, shortly before Beijing 2008 the swimmer bared all.

She explained: “I wanted to show people what an athletic body looks like, to be able to overcome my own fears and try to be confident in who I was. So I put myself out there.”

Amy Acuff

American track and field athlete Amy was famed for her high-jump.

She took part in five Olympics games, where her most memorable performance came in 2004 with a jump of 1.99 m earning her fourth place in the final.

That same year, the blonde beauty was a cover star for Playboy clutching a pair of trainers and wearing sporty attire.

Copies are still available to buy on eBay for £5.

Katarina Witt

The 1984 and 1988 Winter Olympics belonged to Witt, who clinched gold in figure skating in both years.

Least we not forget her general domination of the sport – four World Championships and six European Championships under her belt too.

But the belt came off for the 1998 December edition of Playboy, with the magazine selling out for only the second time in its history – the first being a sexy Marilyn Monroe shoot.

Beate Gauss

Gauss starred alongside fellow athletes Christina Schütze, Christin Steuer, Regina Sergeeva and Angela Maurer, in the German version of Playboy in 2012

The timing of the shoot coincided with her appearance at the Women’s 10 metre air rifle event at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Although she ditched her overalls, she kept her gun for the sizzling snaps.

Romy Tarangul

Judo star Romy left nothing to the imagination when she de-robed, again, for the German Playboy.

Ahead of Beijing 2008, where she was eliminated in the quarter-finals, she joined  Petra Niemann, Katharina Scholz, and Nicole Reinhardt (more on her next) in posing in the buff.

Tarangul only appeared in the Olympics once, but still competes today.

Nicole Reinhardt

Perhaps the most brilliant use of her sporting tools, Reinhardt took to her canoe and was topless for her short, but for a couple of paddles.

The shoot clearly didn’t distract her from a gruelling training regime, and she picked up gold in the K-4 500 metres event.

The canoeist also dominated the World Championships between 2005 and 2011, only once failing to win gold at the 2006 iteration in Szeged, Hungary.

Famously, she also won Miss Germany in 1989.

Luiza Hryniewicz

Polish brunette stunner Luiza was used to making a splash in the pool.

However, in 2011 she took off her swimsuit for a stunning shoot, and has been modelling ever since.

“Swimming was fun, but modelling is better,” she told The Austrian Times.

“The swimming helped shape my figure and that’s helped me get the photoshoots I always wanted.”
