Cats invite 4 players to 2023 Camp
The Moncton Wildcats are excited to announce 4 free agents have been invited to 2023-24 training camp.
A big goalie, Mavric Welk, and trio of forwards -- Joshua Penney, Vincent Gazquez & William Gosselin -- are expected to be in attendance when training camp begins in August.
Mavric Welk, a 17 year-old 6'4" goalie, recorded 11 wins and just 3 losses in 15 games last season for the Richmond Royals of the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL). Welk posted a 3.08 GAA and .913 SV% in the regular season.
Joshua Penney, 17, is a forward from Odessa, ON. Listed at 5’11” and 172 lbs., he had 3 goals and 10 points in 32 games for the Carleton Place Canadians of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL).
Vincent Gazquez, 17, played the 2022-23 season with Ridley College and put up 57 points (25G, 32A) in Canadian High School Hockey (CAHS). The forward from Pembroke, ON is listed at 6’2” and 185 lbs.
William Gosselin, 16, led his OHA Maroon U16 squad last season, totalling 103 points (40G, 63A) in 40 games. The 5’11”, 177 lb. native of Trois-Rivières, QC played in the Hockey Eastern Ontario U18AAA league (HEO U18).
