0 31

PEP GUARDIOLA was left absolutely RAGING as Manchester City were denied a second penalty by VAR – and stormed on the pitch at full-time to confront referee Michael Oliver.

City had been denied a handball in the early stages at Anfield with Liverpool scoring the opener 22 seconds later.

In the latter stages of the game, with the score at 3-1, Pep and City were again denied.

Raheem Sterling drove at Trent Alexander-Arnold and fired a cross into the middle.

The ball clearly hit the defender’s arms, but referee Michael Oliver waved the City appeal away.

Presumably, the Video Assistant Referee in Stockley Park reviewed the incident and decided that the incident did not deserve a spot-kick.

But that did not stop Pep from venting his frustrations.

The Catalan coach could be seen charging up and down the touchline, waving his arms in the air.

He then screamed at fourth official Mike Dean, before putting up two fingers to highlight the two incidents.

After it was waved away, Guardiola could be seen laughing to himself out of frustration.

At full-time, Guardiola approached referee Oliver and as he shook hands with the official, showed that he was still far from impressed.

Pep gave the ref an extremely exaggerated handshake and could be seen sarcastically shouting “Thank you so much, thank you so much” to him.
