Aussie Men’s team prepping for Asian Championships this month

Our Australian Men’s team is in final preparation stages for the AHF Asian Men’s Handball Championships later this month.

The team departs on January 13 for a pre-camp ahead of the Championships which begin on January 18 in Suwon, South Korea. Australia’s drawn pool Group B which includes Bahrain, Oman and Uzbekistan. The team will be playing their first event under Head Coach Ante Jelicic who has been with the squad since May 2017.

As well as determining the AHF Asian Champions, the event is the qualification for the 2019 IHF World Championships. This is the first year that both Australia and New Zealand are participating since the recent Oceania qualification pathway now includes Asia.

The team selections were finalised after the last round of the national league in November and includes some debuts with junior players moving into the Senior ranks. The players are being profiled on the Men’s Team Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/AussieHandball/
