FIFA confirms the whopping amount some clubs earned for 2018 World Cup in Russia

FIFA has revealed the amounts each club has been paid for allowing their players to participate at the World Cup this year.

The governing body for football confirmed the reimbursement was based on a daily rate of $8,530 for each player selected.

In total, 736 players from 416 clubs were eligible.

Legit.ng highlights the highest earners across the globe and in the English Premier League specifically.

Based on the figures, the elite clubs earned the most, which stands to reason when one considers the wealth of international footballers at their disposal.

The top 10 earners in the world were as below:

1. Manchester City, $5 million

2. Real Madrid CF, $4.8 million

3. Tottenham Hotspur, $4.4 million

4. FC Barcelona, $4.1 million

5. Paris Saint-Germain, $3.9 million

6. Chelsea, $3.8 million

7. Manchester United, $3.6 million

8. Club Atletico de Madrid, $3 million

9. Juventus FC, $3 million

10. AS Monaco, $2.9 million

Narrowing it down to the top 5 highest-paid in the EPL:

Manchester City - $5 million

Tottenham Hotspur - $4.4 million

Chelsea - $3.8 million

Manchester United - $3.6 million

Liverpool FC $2.58 million

The full list also revealed some of the other clubs around the world earned more than $1 million, including Al Ahly (Egypt) and AFC Ajax (Netherlands).
