Fernando Santos announces Portugal squad: watch live

At midday Lisbon time, tomorrow Thursday, Fernando Santos will name the Portugal squad to face Egypt and the Netherlands next week in preparation matches for the 2018 World Cup.

It is an eagerly awaited announcement, given that the make-up of the squad is likely to give big clues as to the final 23 who will be on the plane representing the Seleção in Russia in the summer.

Will the likes of Adrien Silva, Raphael Guerreiro and João Mário - all seemingly locks for the World Cup a year ago - miss out on the tournament after, for one reason or another, playing very little football this season? Will Bruno Fernandes, Rony Lopes and Manuel Fernandes be rewarded for their superb campaigns in 2017/18 with a place on the plane? Are veteran centre-backs José Fonte and Bruno Alves good for one more tournament?
