Comolli: Spalletti ‘the right person’ for Juventus as contract extension confirmed
Juventus CEO Damien Comolli is ‘delighted’ with Luciano Spalletti’s contract extension: ‘It was immediately clear to everyone that Luciano was the right person to lead the team on a path of growth.’
Official: Spalletti extends Juventus contract until 2028
Juventus coach Spalletti has signed a contract extension until 2028.
The Bianconeri initially confirmed the agreement by showing the moment Spalletti informed the players about the news before a training session.
A few minutes later, the Serie A giants confirmed Spalletti’s renewal in a statement accompanying Comolli’s comments: “We are delighted to have extended Luciano’s contract for a further two seasons,” said the Bianconeri director.
Spalletti took charge at the end of October 2025, replacing Igor Tudor. Spalletti initially signed a short-term contract expiring at the end of the season.
The Bianconeri sit fifth, one point behind a Champions League placement, but Juventus still decided to continue with the Tuscan tactician regardless of which European competition they’ll play next season.
“Since Luciano joined our great Juventus family, he has had an immediate and very positive impact on our players, the whole Club and the entire Bianconeri community,” Comolli continued.
“It was immediately clear to everyone that Luciano was the right person to lead the team on a path of growth.
“His ambitious style of play reflects the expectations of our fans and the Club, and his values embody our identity.
“We have therefore decided to continue working together beyond the previously agreed contract term because we believe that stability and continuity are two essential pillars for future success. Good luck, Mister! Fino alla fine.”
Juventus have won 17 of 31 games, lost six, and drawn eight during Spalletti’s tenure.
Their next match is a crucial one in the race for the top four as they visit in-form Atalanta tomorrow, Saturday, April 11.
