Tottenham being in a relegation battle has understandably dominated the headlines, and that is partly down to the kind of resources that the Lilywhites have at their disposal.
Spurs remain one of five clubs to have never been relegated from the Premier League, with the club lasting going down to the second tier 48 years ago.
It has been widely reported that Tottenham’s finances will take a substantial hit if the club goes down, and the North Londoners certainly have a lot to lose.
How Tottenham’s matchday earnings compare to their Premier League rivals
According to a report in Swiss Ramble, the opening of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has put Spurs among the big boys in terms of matchday revenue.
The report reveals that Spurs earned £126m in matchday revenue in 2024-25, which is the third highest in the Premier League.
Only Manchester United, who earned £160m, and the Lilywhites’ North London rivals, Arsenal (£154m), earned more than Tottenham on matchdays last season.

Spurs’ figures saw them climb to the seventh highest in Europe, although they are a fair way behind the two highest, Real Madrid (£196m) and Barcelona (£176m).

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been a game-changer for Spurs
Swiss Ramble explain that the growth in Tottenham’s matchday revenue has been substantial since the club left White Hart Lane and moved to their new 62,850-capacity home ground in 2019.
Tottenham had the third-highest average attendance in the Premier League last season (62,127), and additionally, the venue can also host a range of non-footballing events, which further boost the club’s coffers.
It is revealed that Spurs have seen their matchday revenue grow by £81m since 2019, with the next highest increases in that time period being at Arsenal (£54m) and Man United (£49m).
