Two title rivals open negotiations to land £15m Tottenham star, despite prior rejection

Title rivals Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are involved in a tug of war over a Tottenham midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window.

There are currently a lot of unknowns at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the summer transfer window as Roberto De Zerbi begins a new era at the club.

The Italian will get a close look at his squad over the next few weeks before he makes a decision on whether to strengthen in the summer, provided Tottenham stay up.

Many players may thus be fighting for their Spurs futures, and it has now been suggested that a player who has played 33 times for the club this season could be on his way out.

Negotiations held over a deal for Tottenham midfielder Pape Sarr

According to a report in Takvim, Pape Sarr, who Tottenham signed for £14.6m from Metz, is attracting plenty of transfer interest ahead of the summer.

It is revealed that Fenerbahce have started making plans for the summer window, and the Tottenham midfielder is on their wishlist.

The Yellow Canaries have made previous attempts to sign Sarr, only to see their interest knocked back by Spurs.

However, this time, Fenerbahce are pursuing the 23-year-old ‘more decisively’ and have already ‘restated negotiations’ for the Senegal international ahead of the summer window.

Fenerbahce could face competition from their fierce rivals for Sarr

Fenerbache are a point behind their fierce rivals Galatasaray with a game in hand, and the two clubs may also have a battle off the pitch this summer for the services of the Tottenham man.

Takvim reveal that Galatasaray have also shown an interest in the former Metz man, thus setting the stage for a direct face-off between the two Istanbul giants.

However, Sarr was one of the few Tottenham players who earned Igor Tudor’s praise, and the midfielder will also be keen to catch the eye of his successor.
