No Scapegoating: Blaming Villa Player Isn’t The Way To Go

Looks like Marcus Rashford is getting pelters at the moment for being injured and then turning up at the Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn fight last night. I’ve never really understood why people have a problem with that, especially when it was only a semi-final. When did just reaching a semi-final become an achievement?

In some extreme cases, I can see why laying low for a while might be a wise move, especially these days when everyone seems to be looking for something to be outraged about.

Emery was coy when asked about the injury Rashford had picked up. He’s been leaving big players out of the squad in recent matches — Torres, Mings, and now Rashford. Maybe it’s just an excuse to keep a certain player happy?

I think people ought to be careful when digging out players for living their lives. The Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn fight was the hottest event in the world last night — everyone was talking about it. Who would want to miss that fight?

We lost yesterday to Palace, and I was upset about that. But was I going to miss the fight last night? No chance. Just remember, we’re only here for a visit. Time is precious.

Rashford has come here to Villa and improved us. He’s an asset. We ought to be heaping praise on him — we want to sign him! So let’s be careful and not drive him away. Let’s be smart — no scapegoating. UTV
