Tottenham and Liverpool contacted over signing Premier League free agent with four assists this season

0 40

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing a centre-back with four assists this season, and he is set to become a free agent.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Marco Senesi in the last couple of months, although it is worth noting that those links came when Thomas Frank was still manager.

The Bournemouth defender is expected to become a free agent at the end of the season, making him a hot commodity ahead of the summer window.

Spurs have since registered interest in the centre-back, who is known for being a ball-playing defender – one that would fit into the Lilywhites’ new possession-based style under Roberto De Zerbi.

Tottenham target: Marco Senesi transfer latest amid Barcelona interest

TeamTalk have now shared the latest on Marco Senesi’s future ahead of the summer transfer window.

It is understood that the Bournemouth centre-back is facing an anxious wait to discover whether he will land a dream move to Barcelona this summer.

We reported earlier that, although Spurs are keen on Senesi, the 28-year-old is eyeing a move to Spain, with Barcelona his preferred option.

However, the feeling within the Catalan side is that they will only make a move for Senesi if they fail to land their preferred option, Alessandro Bastoni.

Spurs face Premier League competition for Marco Senesi transfer

Spurs still have a chance in the race for the Premier League centre-back. It is further explained that multiple Premier League clubs have already been approached regarding a potential move for Senesi.

Tottenham are among those to have been contacted, but they are far from alone, with several other clubs also in the race. This includes Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Everton, Newcastle United and Sunderland.

The response from England is said to have been overwhelmingly positive, as Senesi is highly regarded across the Premier League, with several clubs viewing him as an experienced and technically accomplished addition to their defensive ranks.

The 28-year-old has been one of Bournemouth’s most important players, having made 30 league appearances this season and helping his side keep nine clean sheets in the process.
