Hibs Prepare For Glasgow City Test

Hibernian Women travel to face Glasgow City this midweek in Springburn as our run-in intensifies.

The televised ScottishPower Women’s Premier League clash will kick-off at 7:45pm on Wednesday 1 April at Petershill Park.

Fixtures

  • Glasgow City Women Vs. Hibernian Women - Wed, Apr 01 2026, 19:45

THE LOWDOWN

Joelle Murray’s side are currently on a strong six-match unbeaten league run heading into April, having sealed a terrific Edinburgh Derby victory last time out.

Ahead of the derby, three victories over bottom four sides Hamilton Academical, Motherwell and Aberdeen preceded back-to-back post-split draws against Celtic and Rangers.

Frustrated by the two stalemates, the Hibees picked up an overdue victory over Hearts on Sunday 22 March in dramatic fashion.

Jess Fitzgerald grabbed her first goal for the Club with a well-placed second-half finish before Georgia Timms levelled soon after. With time running out, Rosie Livingstone fired in a thumping last-minute winner to take all three points back to Leith.

The win lifts us to 39 points, though we remain fifth-place in the SPWPL standings.

THE HOSTS

Glasgow City head into Wednesday evening’s fixture fresh off the back of their Sky Sports Cup triumph at the weekend.

Lisa Forrest struck twice at Fir Park as Leanne Ross’ side saw off Rangers in fickle conditions, with the Ibrox club’s last consolation from Katie Wilkinson not enough to stop a robust City from sealing their seventh League Cup title.

It was an impressive feat from the Petershill Park outfit, especially given Rangers had defeated them just one week prior to inflict a first league defeat of the campaign to the league leaders.

Though City did narrowly prevail 2-1 in our Sky Sports Cup Semi-Final encounter in January, Hibs Women are the only team yet to lose to our upcoming opponents in the league – drawing twice, both home and away.

TEAM NEWS

Linzi Taylor has unfortunately been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign after rupturing her ACL against Rangers earlier this month.

Eilidh Adams, Ellis Notley, Kirsten Reilly and Rachael Boyle all missed out against Hearts, while Kathleen McGovern was substituted early on in the match due to injury.

Head Coach Joelle Murray will provide a squad update on Tuesday afternoon to Hibs TV.
