PREVIEW: Penybont (A)
With the playoff race really ramping up, and on the back of a famous victory at TNS, we make the journey South for the last time in Phase 2 to face Penybont in Bridgend for a 2:30pm kick off.
The feelings from last Friday night will want to be extended by manager Mike Wilde into this Saturday as we look to keep our place now within the top three. The Seagulls recorded a first ever win against the Champions The New Saints at Park Hall with goals from Lewis Sirrell and Jordan Davies, seeing out the second half in style and sending a shock to the rest of the top 6 teams.
Into Saturday, the home side Penybont have had a start to 2026 to forget, only winning once on New Years Day, but failing to win any games since. We’ve had some classics this season against the Blues already, however our last trip to the DragonBet Stadium ended in a narrow 1-0 loss from a first half Jac Clay goal.
In a tough period for Penybont, they’ll be hoping to still finish in a promising position into the playoffs and will heavily rely on the players that initially got them in a comfortable position, with some interesting matchups on the cards heading into Saturday.
As for the Bay, it’s now all about momentum to get us through these last few Phase 2 fixtures, with man management key to avoid any suspensions or injuries.
