Mauritius held by Somalia in TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027 qualifier
Mauritius have played to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027 Preliminary Round qualifier against Somalia in neutral Mozambique on Friday.
Neither team could find the back of the net in Matola, a result that probably suits the Mauritians more as they will host the second leg.
That fixture will be played at the National Sports Complex in Saint Pierre on Tuesday.
Mauritius have qualified for the Cup of nations once before. They reached the finals in Egypt in 1974 but lost all three of their fixtures.
Several COSAFA sides have been in action this week in the first legs of their Preliminary Round ties.
Eswatini lost 2-0 away to Eritrea, while Seychelles and Lesotho played to a goalless draw in Bloemfontein.
