Celtic seemed very keen to take him on loan in January. What was the point of rejecting that approach when the writing was clearly on the wall for his career here?
Given he has barely played any league minutes since the window closed surely that was another daft decision? He could have resurrected his confidence and form north of the border which could have potentially led to a permanent move or at least renewed interest elsewhere.
At worst if he was just as goal shy there is would have indicated very clearly that he wasn't ever likely to return here and deliver. Plus it would have been wages off the books until the summer.
