Dominant Stones secure four goal victory at Kings Hill

Maidstone United Women produced a commanding performance on the road to secure a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Kings Hill, maintaining control of the game throughout the afternoon.

The Stones settled quickly and created the first opportunity inside eight minutes, as White was fouled in a promising position. Manktelow stepped up, but her free-kick was comfortably gathered by the home goalkeeper.

Etheridge threatened from distance on 14 minutes, unleashing an ambitious effort from 35 yards that flew narrowly wide, a reminder of her proven ability from range.

The breakthrough arrived three minutes later in spectacular fashion. Pearch combined neatly with Dale on the wing before embarking on a brilliant solo run into the box, beating multiple defenders and rounding the keeper to finish with style. A superb goal, and an impressive contribution from the centre-back!

Maidstone continued to apply pressure, with Kady Wilkinson testing the keeper with a driven cut-back on 23 minutes, before a patient spell of possession culminated in a Dale cross that almost looped over the goalkeeper and in.

The Stones doubled their lead on 33 minutes. White’s incisive pass split the Kings Hill defence, allowing Manktelow to race through and finish confidently.

Further chances followed before the break, with Etheridge threading a ball through to Hinkley, who was unable to make clean contact. However, Maidstone struck again just before half-time. Platt’s perfectly weighted through ball found Kylie, who calmly slotted home to make it 3-0 at the interval.

Kings Hill showed more attacking intent after the restart, forcing Davies into her first meaningful save of the afternoon just a minute into the second half.

At the other end, Kylie continued to look dangerous, registering a couple of efforts early in the half as she chased another hat-trick. Hinkley also went close on 54 minutes, only to be denied by a strong save from the goalkeeper.

Maidstone remained in control, with Platt again releasing Kylie on 64 minutes, but her lofted effort was comfortably held. Kings Hill managed a rare chance shortly after, though Davies dealt with it confidently.

As the half progressed, Maidstone continued to probe. Madamombe came close on 82 minutes, while Kelsi Wilkinson fired wide from inside the box shortly after, with the Stones unable to convert their second-half chances.

The fourth goal finally arrived late on and was worth the wait. A slick move saw Ascott deliver from the right into Chi, who intelligently found Culpitt on the left — and she made no mistake, firing home to cap an excellent team performance.
