Man Utd Player Ratings vs Bournemouth: Casemiro struggles but one 3/10 teammate was even worse

0 0

Manchester United and Bournemouth served up a pulsating 2-2 Premier League thriller at the Vitality Stadium on Friday evening.

United head coach Michael Carrick named an unchanged starting XI that defeated Aston Villa.

The contest quickly turned into an end-to-end battle, with midfield control slipping away as both sides traded blows.

United threatened repeatedly, only to be denied by a couple of crucial saves from Djordje Petrovic.

Matheus Cunha won a penalty after the interval with Bruno Fernandes firing United ahead from the spot.

Ryan Christie restored parity for Bournemouth moments after referee Stuart Attwell waved away a clear United penalty appeal.

An own goal from James Hill gave the lead to United but the chaos was far from over.

Harry Maguire was shown a red card for a foul inside the box, shifting momentum once again.

Junior Kroupi made no mistake from the spot to level the score at 2-2, though Bournemouth ultimately failed to capitalise on their numerical advantage.

Player Ratings

Senne Lammens – 6/10

Denied Rayan with a brilliant save from a tricky dipping effort, but was left helpless against two clinical strikes.

Diogo Dalot – 6/10

Displayed sharp awareness with a lofted pass to Fernandes that almost opened the scoring, but faded in influence after the break.

Leny Yoro – 6/10

Strong in the tackle for most of the game, but switched off at a crucial moment as Christie struck the equaliser.

Harry Maguire – 4/10

Produced a crucial block without going to ground after Dalot and Yoro were caught out of position. However, he was harshly sent off for a foul in the 78th minute.

Luke Shaw – 4/10

Shaw was beaten comfortably for pace by Rayan during an early counterattack and offered little support in the final third. His performance did little to challenge Thomas Tuchel’s decision to leave him out of the England squad.

Casemiro – 4/10

Looked every bit a player nearing the twilight of his Premier League career. His lack of pace ultimately led to a needless booking.

Kobbie Mainoo – 6/10

He played with composure in tight spaces but could not provide stability to midfield with Casemiro having an off day.

Bruno Fernandes – 7/10

Denied by a brilliant Petrovic save early on, but showed ice-cold composure to convert from the penalty spot.

Amad Diallo – 3/10

Spurned two big opportunities early in the game and a heavy first touch cost him a one-on-one chance. Greater composure in the first half could have seen United secure all three points.

Matheus Cunha – 8/10

Tormented Alex Jimenez in the first half and earned a penalty after the break. Easily the best player on the pitch but he was sacrificed following Maguire’s red card.

Bryan Mbeumo – 5/10

Frustrated up front with limited service but repeatedly helped United out in defence.

Substitutes

Benjamin Sesko – 6/10

United were reduced to 10 men after just seven minutes of his substitution and harshly shown a yellow card.

Manuel Ugarte – NA

Too late to rate.

Ayden Heaven – NA

Too late to rate.
