Tottenham fans receive concering Dejan Kulusevski update: ‘Not as quickly as we would have liked’

0 1

Sweden boss Graham Potter has provided a concerning update on the rehabilitation of Tottenham’s long-term injury absentee Dejan Kulusevski.

The injury situation is now starting to look better for Tottenham, who could have just seven absentees for their clash against Nottingham Forest this Sunday.

Two medium-term absentees, Lucas Bergvall and Destiny Udogie, made their return in the 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid, with both players coming on as substitutes.

Bergvall’s return will please the Sweden boss ahead of his side’s upcoming World Cup playoffs, but that is bad news regarding the midfielder’s Tottenham teammate.

Dejan Kulusevski injury update will frustrate Tottenham fans

Kulusevski has not kicked a ball since suffering a knee injury back in May of last year, and there is no sign yet of the attacking midfielder in training.

When asked last month, Graham Potter was still hopeful that Kulusevski could play a part in Sweden’s World Cup playoffs, but he has now provided some bad news on the 25-year-old’s recovery.

When asked about the Tottenham star, Potter told Fotbollskanalen: “Dejan is making progress but not as quickly as we would have liked.”

That is the last thing that Spurs fans would have wanted to hear regarding a player who is nearing a full 12 months on the sidelines.

Tudor may be boosted by return of three Spurs stars

Mohammed Kudus and Rodrigo Bentancur are expected to return to the pitch in April, and their additions to the squad would undoubtedly give Tudor a lot more options in the final run-in.

In fact, Tudor revealed on Friday that Kudus could return in the next 10 days, while Bentancur is edging closer, and even James Maddison could still play again this season.
