Beuzelin Reflects On 'Sore' Defeat In Dundee

0 1

Guillaume Beuzelin admits Hibernian U19s' first league defeat in over 14 months was a "sore one" as Dundee United kept all three points at Foundation Park.

The wee Hibees were bright in the first 45, creating several great opportunities but struggled to shine in the second 45 - allowing the hosts to snatch a 79th minute winner.

Speaking after the match to Hibs TV, Beuzelin accepted his side simply had to finish their chances against "younger team" that should have been beaten on the night.

"I think we created enough, especially in the first half, to be ahead in the game.

"But in these type of games, if you don't concretise your chances, you're never safe to conceding a goal like we did, with less than 15 to go.

"It's a sore one. But overall, I think we played against a younger team and I think we should have been on top of them."

Hibs were on a 22-match unbeaten run in the CAS Elite Youth League, stretching all the way back to January 2025 until tasting defeat in Dundee on Monday night.

Keen to quickly move on, Beuzelin now eyes the start of a second unbeaten run and hopes to rebound next week against Rangers in the League Cup.

"It (the unbeaten streak) is finished now. Now we try to find a second run. We try to bounce back.

"We always bounce back and we now play Rangers next week. So we're going to try to bounce back from this one.

"Unfortunately, I think Deano coming off half-time disrupted our play a bit. We need to regroup now."
