Third former Tottenham man throws his hat in the ring for manager job after Redknapp and Sherwood
Yet another former Tottenham hero has thrown his name into the mix to replace Igor Tudor, and he has revealed what the Lilywhites need at this moment.
Tudor has failed to get a response from the players since replacing Thomas Frank, with the newcomer overseeing four losses in four since arriving at N17.
According to reports, Tudor has already lost the Tottenham dressing room, with the players having no faith in the 47-year-old to get the team out of trouble.
The Croat is expected to remain in charge for Spurs’ clash against Liverpool, but his future beyond Sunday’s game appears uncertain.
Jurgen Klinsmann is ready to steady the ship at Tottenham
Harry Redknapp has already admitted that he is open to taking an interim role at Tottenham, while former interim boss Tim Sherwood has also said he cannot turn down another opportunity to manage Spurs.
Now, another Tottenham icon, Jurgen Klinsmann, has also offered to jump in and be a unifying force at the club as they fight to secure their top-flight status.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker told ESPN: “Who wouldn’t want the job? It is Tottenham. Whoever you choose, you need a person who can connect to everyone emotionally, that knows the club, that feels the club, that feels the people. Because, to get out of this mess, they need to develop a fighting spirit, a really nasty, ugly, fighting spirit and that goes only over the emotions.
“So you don’t need to have to bring in the mastermind of tactical stuff or whatever, you need to have somebody who gets everybody onboard and go and get these games done in a positive way and get everybody behind the fact that they are in danger of going down to the Championship.”
Who are in contention to replace Igor Tudor at Spurs?
According to various reports, Sean Dyche is now in pole position to take over at Tottenham should the club part ways with Tudor.
There have also been suggestions that Ryan Mason could return to Spurs for his third stint as interim boss after the former Tottenham assistant coach parted ways with West Brom earlier this year.
It has even been claimed by some sources that Tottenham have already contacted Robbie Keane about taking over from Tudor.
