Serie A official line-ups: Inter vs. Atalanta
Denzel Dumfries and Marcus Thuram return to the Inter starting XI, while Atalanta hope Gianluca Scamacca and Nicola Zalewski can revive their fortunes.
It kicks off at San Siro at 14.00 GMT (15.00 CET).
This has been a rough week for both teams, as Inter saw their Serie A lead cut to seven points by defeat to rivals Milan, while La Dea stumbled domestically and then lost 6-1 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The hosts saw Alessandro Bastoni limp off during the Derby della Madonnina with a bruised shin and he is still not fully fit, with Hakan Calhanoglu and Lautaro Martinez already on the treatment table.
There is some good news for coach Cristian Chivu, as Thuram returns to the side with Francesco Pio Esposito.
The big change is that Dumfries has his first start since that ankle surgery in November 2025.
Atalanta had been on stunning form, but stumbled over the last few weeks, losing to Sassuolo and then held 2-2 by Udinese in Serie A, followed by Tuesday’s humiliating 6-1 home defeat in the Champions League to Bayern Munich.
Giacomo Raspadori, Charles De Ketelaere and Ederson have been big losses recently and continue to carry those injury problems, though the Brazilian and Belgian are both back on the bench for the first time this month.
Giorgio Scalvini has shaken off a knee issue to start in defence, while Zalewski and Lazar Samardzic support Scamacca upfront.
