Five managers who could replace Igor Tudor at Tottenham, including Sean Dyche - Opinion

0 3

Tottenham Hotspur surely cannot persist with Igor Tudor for the rest of the season, so here are five managers who could be brought in as his replacement.

Ryan Mason is always up for the Tottenham job

Ryan Mason has a great understanding of Tottenham Hotspur and he has already proven himself as an interim who knows how to come in and pick up points.

The Englishman was called on when Cristian Stellini messed everything up as the caretaker manager and could be given another chance to sort things out.

With Eric Dier and many of the club’s older players now gone, there is no longer the concern that Mason will pick his mates to start, so he is definitely worth considering.

Harry Redknapp has a few matches left in him

Tudor’s problem is how cowardly Spurs continue to look at the beginning of each game, with more emphasis given to stopping the opposition rather than hurting them.

Harry Redknapp is the type of manager who would change this in an instant. He may be getting on a bit, but the ex-Tottenham boss would be able to motivate his players to start playing proper football again.

With only nine Premier League matches to go, why not let someone take over who actually cares about the long-term success of the club?

Tim Sherwood had a decent win percentage when he managed Spurs

Although Tim Sherwood did not last long at Tottenham, he actually achieved a better win percentage than any other manager in the club’s history.

Right now, results are what Spurs need and so Sherwood might actually be a good appointment considering he would only take charge of a few matches.

Once again, he is another person who understands what Tottenham Hotspur are all about, which cannot be said of Tudor.

Sean Dyche might grind out some results for Tottenham

The idea of a manager like Sean Dyche going to Spurs is mocked by some, but why would he be any worse than Thomas Frank was?

Dyche was getting some results at Nottingham Forest before his sacking and he has a respectable track record managing bottom half Premier League teams.

Of all the coaches mentioned, he is the only one who has recently been a manager in the English top flight, so it would actually make sense to offer him a temporary role at the club.

Robbie Keane could replace Igor Tudor at Tottenham

It seems unlikely Keane would come back to North London unless he is offered the permanent job, but there is no harm in asking.

Ferencvaros are about to take on Braga in the Europa League last 16, which sounds far more attractive than joining a relegation scrap.

However, Keane has history with Spurs and keeping the club up would be something he could look back on with pride for many years to come.
